  any individual employee. Admins can view aggregate information and can monitor the

  they cannot access the personal health data of any individual.
• The LIFE Extend mobile app, described below. This is one of a pair of wellness apps
  that have been downloaded more than 2.5 million times by people around the
  globe. LIFE Extend serves as the employee interface to the corporate wellness
  program. It provides an all-in-one wellness solution, easy to understand health
  education, healthy habit tracking, real-time coaching, and much more
• A web-based administrative portal, also described below. This portal makes it easy
  for your organization to configure the corporate wellness program to meet your
  specific needs.

• After creating an account, an admin loads basic information for all participating employees and
  family members, including email addresses.

Unlike other corporate wellness products, the LifeOmic Precision Wellness Solution
guides employees in tracking their health journey progress with established biomarkers
of health and disease. LifeOmic has pre-negotiated arrangements with respected
companies such as Quest Diagnostics to conduct blood draws and measure important
biomarkers.

From the employee point of view, the program works like this:

1. I download the LIFE Extend mobile app for my iOS or Android device.
2. I click through the consent form for the program.
3. I answer the questions posed in the initial health assessment survey.
4. I provide requested measurements such as my height, weight, blood pressure, etc.
5. I have blood drawn for a test that measures roughly 35 important biomarkers that
   assess inflammation, vitamin levels, metabolism and function of organs such as

6. I optionally submit a saliva sample for genetic testing.

The Foundation of Personal Wellness – The Precision Health
Cloud

Recent advances in areas such as DNA sequencing have ushered in a new era in terms of
our ability to understand the functioning of our bodies. Now it’s possible to put together a
comprehensive view of a person’s health by assembling a variety of “big data” sets that
examine the body at levels ranging from the genes a person was born with to their current
blood pressure and heart rate. This “genome to phenome” approach is illustrated below.

When tracked over time (longitudinally), these data sets can help identify health
problems, from cancer to diabetes to rare diseases, very early in their development
when they are most amenable to correction. However, these data sets are truly “big”. A
whole genome sequence carries approximately 100 gigabytes of information with the
associated genetic analysis. Gene expression data, proteomics (the entire set of a
person’s proteins), metabolomics (the real-time fingerprint of a person’s metabolism)
and other data sets are equally large. In addition to extreme size, the situation is
complicated by the fundamental differences in storage formats of these very different
types of data.

LifeOmic has addressed these problems by creating a cloud-based platform called the
Precision Health Cloud (PHC). This cloud-based platform is the underpinning of an
ambitious initiative at the Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) to understand
and treat a variety of cancers, including triple negative breast cancer, multiple myeloma
and pediatric sarcoma. The Precision Health Cloud is able to aggregate the following
data sets for cancer patients:

Germline genome sequence – the genes the patient was born with
Somatic genome sequence – the entire DNA sequence of the cancer
Gene expression data (RNA seq) – data showing how actively each of the roughly
20,000 genes in the body is being used to generate proteins
Electronic medical records – including diagnoses, medications, test results, etc. This
data is stored using the FHIR (fast health interoperability resource) standard.
Patient-reported information – including responses to surveys and health assessments
Wearable data – from fitness trackers and other devices
Social determinants – including information about the patient’s socioeconomic and
environmental situation that might affect their health.
